Pets, smoking, kids' seats, and other extras
What's allowed by default, what to ask for, and the fees if you break the rules.
Pets
Default: no pets in any vehicle. Listings that allow pets show a pet icon and a pet fee (typically $25–$75 per trip).
Service animals are always allowed by federal law and require no fee — but please message the host as a courtesy.
Smoking and vaping
Banned in every FairCar vehicle, no exceptions. Confirmed smoking triggers a $400 deep-clean fee.
Add-ons hosts may offer
Child seats (infant / toddler / booster), roof racks and cargo boxes, ski/bike racks, EV charging cables, dash camera install, prepaid toll transponder.
Add these at checkout or message the host to request — they confirm or decline within a few hours.
