Calendar & availability — best practices to avoid double-bookings
Sync external calendars, set buffers, and use turn time so two guests never show up at once.
Open the right nights
Open at least 14 nights in the next 30 days, including weekends. Half-open calendars rank below full ones in search.
Block dates you genuinely can't host (personal trips, service appointments) — never just to 'see who asks.' Block-then-unblock behavior hurts ranking.
Sync external calendars
If you also list on Turo or rent privately, paste the iCal feed into Dashboard → Calendar → Sync. We pull every 15 minutes and auto-block matching dates.
Push the FairCar feed back out to your personal calendar so you see bookings alongside dentist appointments.
Turn time & buffers
Set a 2-hour minimum turn time between trips so you have a window for cleaning, fuel, and inspection. Same-day back-to-back is technically allowed but invites stress.
Use a 1-day buffer for vehicles that need detailing between every trip (premium / exotic).
