How host payouts work

When you get paid, where the money comes from, and what to do if a payout is delayed.

Built forSmartphoneTabletDesktopEvery FairCar feature works identically across devices.

The payout pipeline

FairCar uses Stripe Connect for payouts. You connect a bank account once during host onboarding; we never see or store your account number directly.

After the trip is complete and the dispute window closes, your trip subtotal (minus your monthly subscription if it hasn't been paid yet that month) is queued through Stripe. Most payouts arrive within 2 to 5 business days, depending on Stripe verification, bank timing, and disputes.

When the subscription comes out

Your monthly subscription comes out of your first completed-trip payout each month. You never get charged on slow months and you never get a credit-card surprise.

If your first trip's net is smaller than the subscription, the remainder is deducted from your next trip the same month. We will never push a balance forward to a future month.

If a payout is delayed

Most delays are Stripe verification issues — usually a missing tax ID or an outdated bank account. Open Dashboard → Payouts to see exactly what Stripe is waiting on.

If a guest opens a dispute on a trip, the trip's payout is held until the dispute closes (5 days max for self-service, longer if escalated).
