Host onboarding end-to-end — from sign-up to first payout
The full ten-step path: account, insurance, listing, calendar, Stripe, first booking, handoff, return, review, payout.

Step 1–3: Account, identity, insurance
Create your account with email, Google, or Apple. Verify your phone (one tap) and your identity (snap your license, take a selfie — under 60 seconds).
Upload your commercial auto declarations page. We require commercial coverage on every listed vehicle because personal policies almost always exclude rental use. If you're unsure, our partner network can quote a policy in the dashboard.
Step 4–5: Build the listing & set pricing
Use the Listing Wizard (Dashboard → Listings → Add vehicle). Pick your car from the catalog so trim, MPG, and dimensions auto-fill.
Accept the recommended nightly price for your first month, then layer on a weekend uplift (Pricing rules → Weekend). Add at least one pickup location with clear written directions.
Step 6: Calendar & availability
Open at least 14 nights in the next 30 days. Listings with full calendars rank higher and earn 3× more in the first month than half-open ones.
Sync any external calendars (Turo, personal) via iCal in Dashboard → Calendar → Sync so you never double-book.
Step 7: Connect Stripe for payouts
Dashboard → Payouts → Connect bank. Stripe collects your bank info directly — we never see or store it. Most hosts finish this in 2 minutes.
Step 8–10: First booking, handoff, payout
Respond to your first inquiry within an hour (faster responders convert about 2× as often). Confirm pickup details 24 hours before the trip.
Complete the pre-trip inspection together with the guest in the trip page. After return, log post-trip photos and mark the trip complete.
Once the dispute window closes, your payout queues through Stripe. Most payouts arrive within 2 to 5 business days, depending on Stripe verification, bank timing, and disputes. Welcome to FairCar.
Sign in and message the FairCar admin team from your in-app Messages — a real person replies within one business day. We don't outsource support.
