Account security — 2FA, password hygiene, and recovery
Your account holds payment methods, a verified ID, and trip history. Lock it down.
Enable 2FA today
Dashboard → Account → Security → Two-factor authentication. Choose SMS or an authenticator app (Authy / Google Authenticator). Authenticator apps are more secure because SIM-swap attacks bypass SMS.
Save your 8 backup codes somewhere offline. If you lose your phone, those are the only way back in.
Passwords
Use a password manager. Never reuse a password you've used on another site — credential-stuffing attacks are the #1 way accounts get taken over.
FairCar will never ask for your password by email, phone, or text. If someone does, it's a phishing attempt — sign in and message the FairCar admin team from your in-app Messages.
If you think your account is compromised
Reset your password immediately at faircar.app/forgot. Then revoke all active sessions from Account → Security → Active sessions.
